    Planet Marketing was founded to meet the marketing needs of small businesses and tourism industry clients – offering practical and sustainable marketing solutions.

    The Planet Marketing team is run by Melanie Grevis-James. Melanie started her marketing consulting business in 1999 after leaving a senior marketing position in the tourism industry. Helping businesses with their marketing and creative needs is what she enjoys most. Today, Planet Marketing enables her to continue doing what she loves. Melanie’s other passions are travel, nature and the environment.

    The Planet Marketing team enjoys helping small businesses and destinations overcome their marketing hurdles, helping them find suitable and sustainable solutions that meet their specific needs and budget. And importantly, the team knows and understand the needs and obstacles faced by small businesses and the tourism industry when it comes to implementing marketing.

    Supporting Outback, regional and rural Australia is important to Melanie. Her love for the Outback began as a young child, exploring the desert areas and National Parks on camping adventures with her family, which she continues still to this day.

    Planet Marketing has a niche focus on tourism marketing options that help businesses create longer-term strategies including corporate responsibility, and community and environment benefits.

    Areas of expertise are in the tourism and ecotourism industry include destination marketing, self-drive, caravan and camping niches; and NFP (not-for-profit) and membership-based organisations. Melanie also founded and operate Our Planet Travel – to promote sustainable and responsible travel.

    A small team of marketing staff and skilled marketing professionals help support Planet Marketing’s clients, providing services in their fields of expertise. This includes graphic designers; social media management, digital marketing and SEO specialists; website developers; photographers and videographers; and PR specialists. We work together to ensure the best team and services are provided for each and every client and project that Planet Marketing undertakes.

    Planet Marketing is based in Brisbane, Queensland – servicing businesses locally, across Queensland, and Australia-wide.

    Melanie Grevis-James has a Bachelor of Business degree (BBus Hosp / Tourism Mngt, University of Queensland) and is an active member of:

    Melanie is a current Judge for the Queensland Tourism Awards (appointed by QTIC); and a previous Mentor for the Young Professionals Mentoring program (QTIC).
